Harlem Week began in 1974 as just a one day festival celebrating Harlem’s rich culture and heritage. It’s now evolved into a month-long celebration of Harlem with many events throughout the month, especially on the weekends. Some things not to miss are a college fair, children’s festival, dancing in the street party, fashion show, film festival, concerts, and the Percy Sutton 5k run/walk. The celebration begins on July 26 and continues until August 22 and most of the events are free. Have fun!
